Hello August

Hello August

August, what a blast!

Mother Nature may not have been as kind to me as maybe I had hoped. As a sun loving lizard, the chilly days maybe were not quite up to scratch, however it has not stopped me thoroughly enjoying her company.

I had the utmost honor of spinning some wedding florals for a couple who are dear friends. The brief was wild and natural with a dark, moody colour palette. I was honestly in heaven. I was playing with dark, dark burgundy dahlias, I chose a beautiful garden rose called “Victorian Bride” and  (of course) I shimmied in plenty of dreadlocks in both crimson and biscuit because I do love a dreadlock both in arrangements and on my humans! As well as stems from a local flower farm, there were stems from the couple’s garden and from Floral Rebellion HQ. A bounty of beautiful local blooms for a proper countryside affair.

Floral Rebellion Dog and I had a week marauding both on land and on the water. We hiked up many a hill and took in some stunning scenery it seemed all across the south of England! We also spent a few days travelling on the water and taking in some beautiful countryside on the Kennet and Avon. I probably don’t need to clarify that a break for me is not a quick dash around a city! It does so much for my wellbeing to be out in the wilds with Mother Nature away from others, I have returned refreshed and ready for the latter end of the year.

Looking ahead, dare I say it…? No, not yet, let’s just live in hope for a late summer blast of sun!
