Is the rain ever going to end?! It’s all I have to say about it my friends. It’s grim. Thankfully, we have lots going on here at Floral Rebellion HQ!
I had a jolly out to the lovely Salisbury Stitch and Textile Group in Harnham. We chatted about floristry, willow, basket weaving, probably waffled on a bit, went off on a tangent more than once and all the while I was weaving and demonstrating how to make a number of different things from willow. I had a great afternoon with such a welcoming crowd of ladies, I felt very lucky to be invited along and am looking forward to a return visit before Christmas. My next demo is Winterslow Women’s Institute, my demos are really informal which means each one is different, I am looking forward to chatting to them later this month.
I have also been out gallivanting with the lovely lot at The Creative Makers Market at St Margaret’s Hall, Bradford on Avon. My mate Katie, from Cotton Lily, has a great eye for artisan makers and the hall is always stuffed with very talented folk offering a wide range of hand crafted treasures. It is the first Saturday of the month and well worth a visit.
I have been lucky enough to be invited to join the lovely folk at Oaktrack Smallholding near Andover at their plant sales. We have had such a lovely time there, made to feel so welcome and nattered to lots of people about all things flowers, willow and workshops. If you didn’t already know, I am hosting workshops there too! I was delighted with how much interest there has been in them. Spaces for the “willow bird feeder workshops” sold out within a few days of advertising, and the more recent addition of the “willow bulrush and dragonfly workshops” are looking to do the same. Secondly, and this is hot off the press, the lovely Jane from Fisherton Mill Gallery invited me to have a natter about hosting workshops in their beautiful building in Salisbury, and we are kicking off with my first one in May. if you are interested in joining me on any of my workshops please do give me a call or drop me an email. It would be lovely to weave with you.
Lots of love,
Steph x
